Find your starting point
A cluttered desk piled with papers, tabs, and sticky notes

AI shouldn’t feel like one more thing to figure out

  • Endless tutorials, threads, and influencer hype, and still no clear place to start
  • You know AI matters, but not where it fits your actual day
  • Handing over too much: client relationships and private info deserve care
  • AI that confidently makes things up, or just tells you what you want to hear
  • More tools, more tabs, one more thing to manage
  • AI bolted onto a messy process just makes the mess move faster
  • You want practical confidence without becoming an AI expert first

AI is an accelerator. The point is to accelerate the right work, not the chaos.

17 years of streamlining processes and coaching software

One-on-one AI coaching

Working Together

Just the two of us, at your pace. No jargon, no pile of homework, no pretending you have to become an AI expert. You bring your real work; we make progress on it together.

01

We go at your pace

We start from your real work and your comfort level, and move as fast or as carefully as you want. Nothing moves forward until it makes sense to you.

02

You stay in control

You see every step and make the calls. AI drafts and handles the grunt work; the judgment, the client relationships, and anything private stay with you.

You learn by doing

No abstract lessons. You practice on the tasks that actually matter to your business, so the confidence you build is real and it stays after we finish.

Private, local AI

Need HIPAA or SOC 2 data privacy? We’ve got you covered.

The best mix of local, open-source models for what you actually need, running on your own hardware, so sensitive client data never leaves the building.

AI buys the time.
You build the
relationships

When AI carries the repetitive work, you get time back for the parts of business that were always human: the sales conversation, the follow-up call, the client who remembers your staff asked about their new job on their last visit. You can’t fake that warmth, and it is the most durable advantage a business has. The time to build it is exactly what AI frees up.

Questions, answered

Common questions.

Straight answers before you ever fill out a form.

Do I need to be technical to work with Design Reasoning?

No. The goal is not to make you an AI expert. You bring your real work and we make progress on it together, at your pace, with no jargon and no pile of homework.

How much does AI coaching cost?

Coaching packages range from a $250 to $500 AI Confidence Session to a $2,500 to $6,000 AI Workday Upgrade, with a multi-week Intensive ($900 to $1,800) and a Team Workshop ($1,200 to $3,500) in between. Automation and website or visibility work is scoped and quoted up front, so there are no open-ended meters.

Do you build websites or help me get found?

Yes. Alongside coaching and automation, Design Reasoning builds sites and tunes them for search and AI answer engines (SEO, GEO, and AEO), so customers, and tools like ChatGPT and Perplexity, can find and recommend you.

Do I have to buy a bundle, or can I pick one thing?

Pick one or combine them. Take just coaching, just automation, just a website, or any mix, and add more whenever you are ready. Nothing is bundled.

Do you build AI automations, agents, and custom GPTs?

Yes. Beyond coaching, Design Reasoning builds AI automation and agentic workflows mapped to how your business actually runs, from custom GPTs for your team to multi-step agents that handle repetitive work, always with you in control.

Do you work as an AI consultant?

Yes. Design Reasoning is a fractional AI consultant for owners, professionals, and small teams, based in the Bay Area near San Francisco and available remotely. That includes hands-on generative AI training and workshops for teams, not just strategy decks.

Is my data kept private?

Yes. Client relationships and private information stay with you. For HIPAA or SOC 2 environments, Design Reasoning can set up local, open-source models that run on your own hardware, so sensitive client data never leaves the building.

What AI tools do you use?

Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot, and NotebookLM for research, plus whatever comes next. For automation and agents the builds run on agentic tools like Claude Code, Claude Cowork, Codex, and Cursor, with prompt engineering, context engineering, and loop engineering doing the heavy lifting. When a task calls for it, that includes retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and Model Context Protocol (MCP) connections so the AI can safely reach your own data and tools. Design Reasoning is vendor-neutral and helps you land on the best mix for your work, plus local models like Llama and Mistral, served with Ollama, when privacy requires it.

Where are you located?

Design Reasoning is based in the Bay Area, California and works remotely on Pacific time.

What is the Treasure Map Method?

It is a five-step approach: Listen, Map, Practice, Build, and keep judgment human. Start where you are, find the few high-leverage spots where AI genuinely helps, and automate only what is repetitive, worth it, and safe to supervise.
